I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
InStyle is seeking a highly organized Editor to join our team. This role will be focused on assigning and editing evergreen content. You’ll work directly with our Director of Content Strategy, Fashion and Beauty Directors, Growth/SEO partners, and Content Quality teams to create, edit, and update articles, ensuring that our content is accurate, updated, and comprehensive.

Edit 2-3 evergreen stories daily from start to finish across beauty, fashion, and culture.
20%
Manage a pool of writers, including monthly assignments, feedback, and invoices.

Write evergreen articles as needed.

Update InStyle articles for freshness and accuracy.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
- B.A. in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
- 2+ years experience writing and/or editing beauty, fashion, and lifestyle content for a major publication.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience assigning, editing, and developing freelance writers.
- Strong organizational and project management skills are necessary to succeed in this role. Candidates must be able to track details (like invoices and deadlines) efficiently without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Excel/Google Sheets experience (or excitement to learn!) is mandatory.
- Experience using tools such as Google Analytics and SEMrush to pull and analyze data.
- A strong visual sense—you understand the InStyle visual style and aesthetic.
- A deep understanding of SEO and the ability to pivot effectively as best practices evolve.

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400 - $62,400 The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
