Job Responsibilities
You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:
1. Administers Developmental Evaluations/Assessments (E/A): Administers and interprets developmental evaluations to determine eligibility for BCW. Prepares reports for official child record and family. Relates results to Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Attends IFSP meetings as a part of the MDT. Assist the MDT in developing Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcomes.
2. Provides supervision for Special Instructors (SI): Train and provide orientation for new SI's. Attend SI meetings/trainings conducted by the state. Assists in implementing Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), as needed. Review SI progress notes. Provides technical assistance, resources and training. Conducts district team meetings as needed. Attends all scheduled state EIS meetings and shares information with BCW staff and contract providers.
3. Maintains knowledge of current trends in Early Intervention and state approved developmental evaluation tools. Coordinates training for contracted providers on BCW E/A standards, and evaluation tools and assessments used by the district. Monitor evaluation materials/tools and order as needed.
4. Serves as the district Master Cadre, liaison for children with challenging behaviors: support and assist contracted providers with Pyramid Model.
5. Leads all Primary Service Provider (PSP) Team meetings in the district. Completes payments for all PSP team meetings into database within one week of the meeting occurrence.
6. Coordinate the Local Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) activities. Promotes public awareness of BCW: Completes public awareness activities as assigned or as self-initiated when opportunities are presented. Participate in community health and resource fairs.
7. Conduct BCW team meetings, and handle BC related issues with district and contract staff when Early Intervention Coordinator is unavailable.
8. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience, One year of which in a supervisory role OR Master's degree
from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience at the lower-level Social Worker, Non-Licensed 3 (HCP122) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in child development, early childhood education, early childhood special education, special education or other closely related field from an accredited college or university
• Experience in Babies Can't Wait and/or Early Intervention
• Managerial Skills
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
• Training background
