YOUR LIFE AS AN EARLY CHILDHOOD - SPECIAL NEEDS TEACHER
This full-time school position in human services works the day shift during business hours.
As an Early Childhood - Special Needs Teacher in human services, you play a crucial role in designing a classroom environment that is both motivating and stimulating for our students with disabilities. You provide a written daily lesson plan in book form that you keep at the school. Throughout the school year, you maintain periodic progress scales for each student and attend case conferences. You implement a behavioral system, as approved by our protocols and treatment team, as well as ensure that accurate attendance records are maintained and submitted at the end of the school year.
In addition, you make sure that your students are supervised at all times by a responsible individual. You develop relationships with assigned professionals, including the treatment team and the coordinator of therapeutic classroom activities. As needed, you submit monthly reports to the appropriate parties and attend school-specific meetings. You also participate in meetings and workshops as well as help organize and manage extracurricular activities. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Early childhood (birth to 2nd) certification
- Ability to meet the minimum requirements of the State Board of Education
