Early Childhood - Part-Time Preschool Teacher - Flexible Hours

The Children’s School (TCS) is looking for a teacher to join our preschool team starting in the new year. We look forward to welcoming a new teacher to our caring, hard-working team of early educators that are dedicated to our program's children and their families and take great joy in teaching and playing.
The ideal candidate has experience in an Early Childhood setting and is qualified as a Teacher or Teacher Associate, as defined by the Child Development Division, but Teacher Assistant candidates will also be considered.
This is a part time role and we are open to working with the right candidate on the number of hours and schedule.
Our experienced team of teachers create play-based learning opportunities that encourage children to pose questions, seek solutions, develop friendships, and explore their creative and intellectual abilities. Our curriculum draws from the cycle of seasons and world around us, process-oriented art and sensory experiences, social-emotional growth, and the emergent interests of children. Located on a beautiful property in South Burlington, TCS has a warm and inviting classroom and a large outdoor space for play and exploration. Outdoor learning experiences and open-ended play are a central part of the TCS experience throughout the seasons.
Duties

• Work with the lead teacher to implement classroom activities and encourage children's participation
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom material
• Maintain frequent communications with parents, outside providers, and other staff
• Follow all center policies and state regulations
• Participate in professional development and training as part of an Individual Professional Development Plan
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Qualified as a Teacher, Teacher Associate, or Teacher Assistant as defined by Child Development Division
• Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting
• Undergraduate credits in child development and/or willingness to complete the Fundamentals course within one year of the employment start date
• Successful completion of the background check through the Child Development Division after hire
• Completion of Online Mandated Reporter Training through the Child Development Division
• Completion of a 9-hour online State Mandated Training: Vermont Orientation Training
• CPR and First Aid Certification
