Location: Humann Elementary School
Paraeducator assigned to the Early Childhood program will work with 3 and 4 year old children in a learning and social environment. Duties include assisting in the classroom, including breakfast and lunch set up/clean up, facilitating learning, play and self-help activities and other responsibilities as requested to assist the classroom teacher. Paraeducators will assist teachers in implementation of Individual Education Programs for children below age five who have verified disabilities. Ability to communicate with staff, children, and families. Enjoy children, keep a sense of humor, show patience and consistency.
This position will support the MORNING PROGRAM.
Must meet requirements of State Rule 11, which states at least 12 semester credit hours in Early Childhood/child development or the equivalent in prior training or experience. Associate Degree in Early Child Development preferred. A candidate who does not meet these requirements may be considered. At time of hire, a condition of employment is to complete 6 hours via training or experience during the first year of employment; the other 6 hours must be met by the end of the 2nd year of employment. Must be 19 years of age and meet State of NE licensing requirements including being CPR certified and hold a First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain and maintain).
