This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are critical components of the position AOG Part Purchasing Specialist.

This is a full-time position that will report to the Manager of Technical Purchasing. The AOG Part Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the routine purchasing of materials and the repair of rotable components for Eastern Airlines. The position interacts with the Director of Technical Services, Director of Quality Assurance, Sr. Manager Material Control and Supply Chain, the company’s Flight Mechanics, other Quality auditors, Director of Maintenance, and Vice President Maintenance and Engineering. The successful candidate will have a high level of integrity and exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with the maintenance team and other company team members in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

1. Duties and Responsibilities
   

• Responsible for helping to coordinate the management of AOG and non-AOG critical material support functions and/or coordinating with material control and the supply chain.
• Develops sources of supply that provide critical support while remaining cost-effective;
• Responsible for ensuring that purchased and repaired items are airworthy, and have required certification documentation;
• Acts as buyer for timely, cost effective and disciplined acquisition of quality materials in support of aircraft maintenance;
• Resolves problem invoices that have a pricing or receipt discrepancy;
• Works for all departments on problem solving and assuring that Aircraft are released on time;
• Directs disposition of all unserviceable inventory for repair or production hold;
• Evaluates suppliers through objective performance measurements;
• Responsible for the timely and cost-effective shipping of repaired and purchased items;
• Ensures that items are prepared for shipping in a proper manner to protect against damage;
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Services or VP MX & Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is a plus or related education/experience;
• Three (3) years of Procurement/Procurement Planning/Material Control experience within the aviation industry is preferred;
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills required;

• Demonstrates excellent management, communication skills, professionalism, and positive customer service attitude without compromising quality;
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the Internet;
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment;
• Some travel may be required;

• Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);
• Eligible to work in the United States.
