A Typical Day
A typical day in the life of a Central Carolina Duct Shop Assistant includes:
- Fabricate and assemble parts with precision.
- Fabricate and insulate duct work for both commercial and residential divisions.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Perform tasks including griding metal, using a spot welder, along with MIG welding and inspecting finished products.
- Proficiently run fabrication machines with minimal quality defects.
- Read and comprehend work orders.
- Clean and prepare finished products for shipping.
- Utilize general tools used in fabrication, such as tape measurers, protractors, and calipers.
- Ability to operate computer with plasma cutter to fabricate duct work and fittings for both commercial and residential job materials.
- Act as backup to Duct Shop Foreman when necessary.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner complying with OSHA regulations and company rules.
- Communicate professionally and thoroughly with Central Carolina Air Conditioning team, clients, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years' experience in warehouse and shop environment; HVAC and sheet metal experience preferred.
