Dsp (Direct Support Professional)/Personal Caregiver

Looking for a Direct Support professional to provide personal assistance for an adult woman in order to support her with living an independent lifestyle! Personal assistance tasks include but are not limited to: hands-on personal assistance (assistance with clothing changes, bathing, feeding, morning and evening routines, etc); assistance in managing medical care and medication administration; transportation to access community services, activities and appointments; and observing, guiding, training, and verbally communicating during various activities. The individual is prone to seizures so candidates must have the strength and flexibility to monitor, report, and safely manage her seizure activity, being able to keep her safe while moving as well. Position requires patience and flexibility while working, being aware and staying engaged with the individual through verbal communication. Though she is non-verbal, the individual is aware of her environment and processes through received verbal communication. She enjoys helping others and loves interacting with children! Hourly rate is $20-24 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

● High school or equivalent (required)

● All vaccinations as suggested by the CDC ( e.g. COVID-19 , Flu)

● Valid drivers license & ability to transport to appointments with a vehicle (required)

● Ability to pass drug screen/background checks (required)

● Caregiving: 1 year (preferred)

● Strength and flexibility to safely manage seizure activity 
Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

● Medication administration

● Provide assistance for all hygiene care (e.g. bathing, dressing, oral care, toileting)

● Monitor seizure activities and assure safety

● Meal preparation and assistance in feeding

● Participating with the individual during recreational programs

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per year
