DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting their independence.

Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions
- Monitor and document individual's health status and report any changes to the nurse or supervisor
- Support individuals in participating in recreational activities and community outings
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Skills:
- Experience in patient care, preferably working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility needs
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols
- Familiarity with hospice care principles (preferred)
- Understanding of dementia care techniques (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Valid driver's license
