Project Outline:

The DMPK&M – Bioanalytical Science and Immunogenicity group at Takeda is seeking a summer intern for 2024 to develop reagent-free quantitative LC/MS assays for therapeutic proteins in biological matrices. During the internship program, the student will gain expertise in the general strategy of LC/MS method development for protein. This includes identifying surrogate peptides, optimizing MS conditions for these peptides, and refining the proteolytic digestion conditions, and preparing biological samples.

Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to develop a novel 2D liquid chromatography - triple quadrupole mass spectrometry system for online high pH fractionation. This approach aims to achieve highly sensitive quantification of therapeutic proteins, eliminating the need for immunoenrichment.

This position will be onsite (4+ days in office).

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field with a minimum of one year of completed university studies.

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internshipwith Takeda.

  • Please note that Takeda does not provide intern housing or a housing stipend.

The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
