Driver/Presser

Job Summary:
The Driver is responsible for transporting shipments from the freight forwarder to the Warehouse and making daily inter-office runs between Brooklyn, Manhattan and the tri-state area to our Retail Store locations. While not on driving duty, the driver is also tasked with secondary pressing, steaming and general floor assistance responsibilities
The hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. This position is non-exempt and thus eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:

• Performs pick-up and delivery duties utilizing one of the three company box trucks
• Complete maintenance checks on company trucks and notify manager of any issues
• Refuel and bring trucks to car wash to make sure the trucks are always presentable and ready to go
• Perform secondary duties such as pressing, steaming or general floor assistance while not on driving duties
• Assist in receiving and breaking down container when shipment arrives from freight forwarder
• Additional tasks as assigned

Desired Background:

• Minimum High School diploma (or equivalent)

Experience:

• 3-5 years of driving experience
• Warehouse experience in the garment industry a plus

Skills:

• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe DMV record
• Must drive in inclement weather such as heavy rain and light snow
• Work well independently
• Team player and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Must be proactive
• Ability to anticipate problems and resolve in a timely manner
• Always remain calm during stressful situations

Since this position requires the handling of merchandise there will be physical work. Physical functions will include:

• Must be able to push and pull rolling racks with weights up to 200 pounds

• Requires ability to lift up to 75 poundsat a time
• Frequent bending, pushing, pulling and lifting, twisting and reaching
• Ability to hold and grip garments
• Ascending/descending from a rolling ladder to hang/remove garments
• Must be able to stand and walk about the warehouse throughout scheduled shifts; up to 8 hours
• Required language is English
• Candidate must be able to communicate both verbal and written in English
