Position Summary
To serve our customers by being trained to perform the job duties of different positions within the sales team and also to provide coverage for these positions during absences.
Essential Functions
- Sells, orders, delivers, stocks, rotates, displays and maintains all products at customer locations according to established standards.
- Maintains a good working relationship with: customers and consumers at customer locations; account and area managers at Pepsi; and other internal employees at Pepsi (e.g. warehouse employees, sales equipment employees).
- Invoices customers for sales; collects payment (e.g. cash, check).
- Communicates with retailers and Pepsi management team on issues regarding pricing, products, programs and problems that may arise in the store.
- Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. laws); wears all required personal protective equipment.
- Maintains customer’s product inventory by ordering and delivering the appropriate amount of product needed to satisfy customer’s needs until the next scheduled delivery.
- Maintains and completes required paperwork (e.g. DOT logs, sales summaries, mileage and merchandising logs); maintains confidentiality of product pricing, promotions and other sensitive and confidential information.
- Works in conjunction with Store Management to identify opportunities to increase the sales and profitability of the company through proper use of Point of Sale materials, communication of price/value and securing displays.
- Maintains the current Customer Development Agreement (CDA) and monitors compliance with the agreement.
- Communicates with supervisors and co-workers about retailer situations in order to maintain established customer service standards.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required meeting workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
High School or GED
Experience
Years of Experience – 0 – 1 years Sales experience with a consumer product line and customer relations experience.
Certifications & Licenses
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License; employee must be insurable to operate a vehicle, as G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. a condition of initial and continued employment.

Skill in: selling products and promotions; customer service in a variety of settings. Ability to: work quickly and efficiently without direct supervision; solve problems; multi-task; adapt to changing tasks and priorities; read diagrams and maps; communicate effectively with customers, relate to customers and develop good working relationships; be trained on a two and four-wheel hand cart, pallet jack, straddle stacker, hand held computer and printer and other mechanical equipment; drive a combination vehicle, lift heavy product repetitively, accurately count inventory on vehicle; read (e.g. diagrams, maps, planograms) and write.
