Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Driver Manager to join our team. The Driver Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of drivers and ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of drivers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement driver schedules and routes to maximize efficiency
- Monitor driver performance and provide coaching and feedback as needed
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including DOT regulations
- Coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of driver activities, including hours worked and deliveries made
- Conduct regular safety meetings and trainings for drivers
- Collaborate with other departments to improve overall operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial driving or related field
- Proven experience managing a team of drivers
- Excellent knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using GPS navigation systems and other relevant software
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Skills:
- Box truck driving experience
- Manual transmission operation skills
- Experience with refrigerated trailers is a plus
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and requirements
- Familiarity with courier services and route driving
- Ability to load and unload goods, including heavy lifting if necessary
- Forklift operation skills are desirable
