Drafter Designer
Position summary:
The position requires sound comprehensive knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing, CAD/graphics, computer model work, and reading of drawings. Is responsible for developing designs of metal products manufacturing for vessel internals as well as creation and maintenance for bill of materials (BOM). In addition, will help ensure that company operating and cost efficiencies are obtained, quality and safety standards are achieved, and customer delivery deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
- Develops drawings for complete engineering systems
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of bills of materials
- Work directly with engineering staff, sales staff and customers to produce drawings and bills of material from sketches, existing drawings, electronic images, along with written and verbal descriptions
- Work closely with all departments in the plant to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free
- Utilizes drafting resources to create new tools to more efficiently carry out above mentioned tasks; includes hardware and software design
- Work from customer drawings, company drawings, vendor drawings or specifications. Use corporate drawing standards as guidelines
- Performs additional related duties as requested and required
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in drafting design or equivalent experience required
- 3 plus years of drafting experience preferred
- Drafting design skills with metal fabrication for vessel internals or equivalent
- Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD, Solid Works, Windows, Word and Excel
- Proficient with two dimensional AutoCAD design and drafting
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail and results
- Mechanical and technical skills and knowledge
- Works well in teams
- Able to work with limited supervision
- Able to follow directions
- Results oriented while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Bilingual Preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
