Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Donor Relations Coordinator manages a comprehensive and strategic communications plan for a Donor Relations and stewardship program that fosters and nurtures long-term, meaningful relationships between the College and its donors. Managing these programs includes writing and coordinating e-communications; presidential acknowledgments; preparing annual stewardship reports for endowed and current restricted funds; planning and implementing donor recognition events; managing a giving societies program; and assisting development officers with establishing and coordinating individualized stewardship plans for major donors.

Communications and Engagement
- Write, maintain, and manage online and visual content for development programs through various communications vehicles (e-solicitations, eblasts, website, digital brochures, etc.).
- Update development web pages through Word Press; periodically review content and refresh information on giving, donor profiles, and stories.
- Provide support to major gift officers and drive donor-focused stewardship throughout the department by creating and managing effective publications, meaningful stewardship reports, and compelling donor profiles. Assist staff and the President with customized stewardship plans for select donors.
- Provide communications support for key fundraising initiatives for capital and other special campaigns.
Donor Relations
- Prepare annual stewardship reports for donors and family members who have established named endowed funds, and stewardship reports for current restricted funds including loan funds, prizes/awards, Trustees' designated funds, select foundation reports, etc. This includes report construction, implementation, and research.
- Oversee production of the president's acknowledgment letters and donor phone calls.
- Implement and manage a comprehensive giving societies program for lifetime, annual, and legacy giving societies including executing recognition benefits for individual giving levels.
- Plan donor recognition events for loyal donors, donor recognition dinners, and one-off events such as a campaign launch.
- Write and coordinate the design and production of stewardship and donor recognition materials, e.g., Honor Roll of Donors; event invitations; recognition plaques; videos; and social media.
- Oversee annual student thank you letter writing initiative.
- Assist the director of development with the management of the Donor Relations budget.
Competencies
- A demonstrated ability to speak and write persuasively, strong editing skills, and the ability to articulate the mission of the College.
- Use various technologies such as an email marketing platform, virtual meeting software (Google Meet/Zoom), database, desktop design/publishing tool, and the Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) as well as Google Drive/Docs/Sheets. Raiser's Edge knowledge is a plus.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to work under pressure, and high level of attention to detail.
- Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and able to collaborate with colleagues across campus offices.

The position typically works in an office environment.Must be available to work occasional weekends and evenings.
Physical Demands
Requires standing/walking/sitting for extended periods of time. May occasionally lift 10/15 lbs.

- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a higher education or nonprofit setting
