ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Process all products received stored and shipped
- Operates and maintains assigned Material Handling Equipment
- Coordinates with other departments within the organization to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of product received, stored and shipped.
- Ensure all applicable documents are prepared and forwarded to appropriate departments.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Prepare and assist with cycle, quarterly and end-of-year inventories.
- Responsible for proper material handling techniques, as well as related procedures for processing, care and protection of product in storage areas.
- Familiar with the Cold Store Manager (CSM)/ Further Processing Tool Series (FPTS) program within the processing phase of the Receiving/Shipping duties.
- Perform duties in cold and wet environment (exposure to temperature ranges from minus 10° in freezer to 30°-34° in the coolers.
- Perform duties in working conditions such as wet and slippery floors and high noise levels. Operate MHE when needed.
- Performs clerical duties: answers the phone, schedules all appointments and closes out all paperwork.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Dock Clerk requires a High School diploma or GED, as well as the ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (forklift/pallet jack) and maneuver safely in congested areas within the plant.
- Because of the nature of work environment, candidates will be required to pass a physical exam to ensure vision and physical capabilities, which include lifting and moving over 50 pounds.
- Ability to function effectively as a team leader/lead worker.
- Knowledge of Material facility practices (i.e. receiving, shipping, warehousing, storage, etc.)
