What you’ll do as Division Manager:
Customer Actions & Utility/Non-Utility Relationships
· Participate in trade associations and organizations involved in vegetation management.
· Market appropriate vegetation management services to utilities in conjunction with the Regional Vice President.
· Research and identify potential business opportunities for vegetation management in existing and emerging work locations.
· Act as role model to become a key change champion for the designated area.
· Build excellent relationships with our utility and non-utility customers, labor sources, local communities, and other strategic entities.
· Develop long term contract strategies including work scheduling, weight of risks, financial impact, and overall benefits and detriments for Lewis.
· Understand and analyze in detail contracts, prepare bids, and secure contracts to obtain the best deals for our company.
Team Direction and Leadership
· Promote an excellent understanding and acceptance of responsibilities and authorities described in the job description of your team.
· Build effective working relationships to create a trustful work environment while developing the needed skills to increase retention, efficiency, safety, and high employee moral towards work.
· Set training goals for your team, coach, execute performance reviews, and conduct team meetings where accident reports and property damage can be assessed within a psychologically safe work environment.
· Partner with Lewis Human Resources department on talent management, performance initiatives, retention, discipline, and compliance of the Corporate Safety Program.
Day-to-day
· Respond timely to customers.
· Maintain open lines of communication and good working relationship with all members of the Operational Management Group and other Lewis departments.
· Promote Lewis values, operating principles and objectives.
· Verify strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
· Is up to date with the latest utility vegetation management equipment and procedures.
What you’ll need:
· At least ten years’ experience and/or some combination of vegetation management experience, working in positions as Supervisor or Area Management, and/or personnel management.
· High school Diploma or GED, bachelor’s degree preferred.
· ISA Certified Arborist, Degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, or a closely related field is preferred.
· Strong leadership and organizational skills.
· Ability to read and understand contracts, plan driven and implementation, and strong customer service.
· Bid background preferred but not required.
· Talent and personnel Management.
· Able to compose and complete necessary reports executive level management.
· Have a valid driver’s license.
· Willing and able to work extended hours and travel by air or ground.
· Computer savvy and vegetation software programs knowledge.
· Lift under 50 lbs.; repetitive and set motions (keystroking, sitting at length).
