This is how we build mutual respect, trust and community. Our mission fosters a sense of belonging and community that is critical to our success individually and as a company.

Diversion Specialist - The dirtiest job you’ll ever love!

So you want to make an impact on our planet? Here’s your opportunity. The Diversion Specialist role is part investigator and part consultant. You are a sleeve-rolling, boots on the ground individual with a good pair of gloves and a strong stomach. Our Diversion Specialists are responsible for supporting the implementation and performance of Divert’s diversion programs and products, the backbone of our solutions. As part of the Customer Success team, you’ll work directly with Customer Success Managers and the Customer Data team to identify opportunities and support customers in the field to enhance diversion practices. This role requires curiosity, investigation and analysis. Yes, you’ll be analyzing food waste, but you’ll also have the opportunity to travel to major cities/towns across the Northeast and Mid Atlantic, work directly with Divert’s customers and make that significant impact you’ve been talking about.

Reporting to the Director of Customer Success you’re a strong self-starter, able to organize your time and priorities with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Customer Success Managers to schedule assessments for all customers throughout the year

Store Training, Outreach & Performance

  • Work with the Customer Success Managers to implement/provide training and monitor recycling programs

  • Visit stores following new launches to perform pulse checks, ensure compliance and participation

  • Act on the insights derived through experience, communication and data to improve store-level recycling during store visitations

  • Appropriately respond to store problems/issues and resolve in a timely fashion - keep all stakeholders engaged & informed as needed

Diversion Opportunities & Program Enhancement

  • Continue to identify opportunities to add value for customers through your expertise on Divert’s programs/products and presence in stores and waste generator locations

Candidates for this position must have/be able to:

? 0-3 years’ experience in retail, supermarket, or waste management experience.

? Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical/problem-solving abilities

  • Proactively seek opportunities for improvement and implement new initiatives with enthusiasm

? Basic understanding or comfortable with the following is a requirement:

Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email.

Driving as part of the workday (must have current drivers license and pass RMV background check)

The ideal candidate...

  • Is passionate about our planet and reducing our carbon footprint

  • Has the ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions

  • Enjoys “getting their hands dirty” by digging into complex operations

  • Takes a high degree of ownership over their work

  • A clear communicator with professional presence

  • Effectively define objectives and priorities

  • Has strong listening skills; open to input from other team members and departments

  • Has the ability to lead through influence

  • “Big picture” thinker, a key to addressing top-level concerns and finding the best path forward from all of the available data

What's In It For You?

  • Compensation Range: $60K - $70K annually

  • Health, Vision and Dental Benefits (effective the first of the month following your date of hire!)

  • Opportunities for Advancement with a Rapidly Growing, Mission-Driven Organization

Location / Work Setting: United States; Southeast or Midwest
