Position Summary:
Hillwood Airways is recruiting to hire motivated, conscientious, and decisive Dispatchers to work at our Part 121 Supplemental Airline. Hillwood Airways Dispatchers are responsible to the Director of Operations (DO). They will exercise the authority delegated by the DO to perform operational control functions during supplemental operations.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize all available resources to make decisions that will maintain the highest level of safety
- Prepare and disseminate the flight release to include weather information, flight planning and performance calculations, field conditions, and NOTAMS
- Compute the amount of fuel required for the safe completion of flight according to type of aircraft, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions, traffic, and minimum fuel requirements, prescribed by federal aviation regulations
- File the Air Traffic Control (ATC) flight plan prior to departure and monitor ATC delays
- Create operational efficiency during times of irregularities caused by weather, crewmembers, maintenance, or situations beyond the control of the Company
- Monitor flights, record departure and arrival times, and keep the Flight Following system current
- Coordinate with Maintenance Control to ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is completed before departure
- Coordinate with Ground Operations to include passenger accommodations for regular and irregular operations
- Communicate times of severe operational impact, or other irregular operations to the DO
- Initiate emergency procedures and notification when necessary
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Company
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
- Ability to work shifts
- Ability to work under pressure
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Familiar with one or more computerized flight planning systems
Education and Experience:
- Must possess a valid Airman's Certificate, ATP or Dispatcher License (Issued by the FAA)
- Successful completion of the Company Flight Follower Training Program
