Dispatch Coordinator

Job Summary:

Our company is seeking a highly motivated dispatcher to join our team to schedule and route our fleet of 9 local delivery trucks, monitor daily progress of deliveries, and communicate with our drivers. 

Responsibilities:

• Organize and schedule orders with special attention to delivery notes and truck capacities.

• Plan and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency.

• Coordinate, monitor and oversee daily delivery status. 

• Communicate with drivers regarding their progress and assist with delivery issues. Answer driver questions and provide support. Resolve problems with customer contacts, addresses, and vehicles,

• Communicate with customers to schedule deliveries, prepare them for the driver’s arrival, reduce delivery times, and address any concerns.

• Liaise with customer service, sales teams, and management to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while effectively handling pressure and unexpected situations.

• Analyze delivery performance and systems to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

• Schedule and keep records of fleet maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics role.

• Strong proficiency in map navigation and route optimization software.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with drivers, customers, and other team members.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.

• Time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks.

• A detail-oriented and proactive approach to ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
