Dishwasher

Job Title: Dishwasher

Reports to: Chef

Job Objective: The dishwasher creates a welcoming environment for our guests by ensuring that all plate ware and silverware are properly clean and sanitized.

Key Areas of Responsibility: This person works within a team to ensure that silverware and plate ware are cleaned and stocked throughout the shift. Also conducts housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness of dish area and all areas of the kitchen.

Specific Duties:

• Load, run and unload dish machine.
• Wash pots, pans, trays, plate ware and silverware.
• Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
• Keep dish machine clean and report any functional and mechanical problems immediately.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage or loss.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Wash work tables, walls, and refrigerators.
• Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Takes out all garbage and recycling at the end of shift.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Functions as a supportive team member during the course of their shift.
• May assist with various plate-up meals as they are prepared.
• Other Duties and Responsibilities as may be designated

Qualifications: Ability to work effectively within a team. Ability to work positively in a fast paced environment. Ability to work on your feet and able to meet the physical demands of the position. Position requires regular, reliable attendance.

Education/Experience: High School or equivalent. Prior 3 months experience is preferred.

Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively through both verbal and written means

Equipment/Computer Expertise: Knowledge on operating commercial dish machines preferred but not required.

Physical Demands: Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Continuous use of hands and arms. Continuous bending, reaching and twisting.

Work Environment: Ability to work in elevated temperatures and wet environment.
