What We Do: 
 
We are advancing an exciting pipeline of neurology-focused therapies, with a focus on commercializing novel treatments for epilepsy. Building upon the positive results and compelling data from our XEN1101 Phase 2b "X-TOLE" study in adult patients with focal epilepsy, our XEN1101 Phase 3 program includes studies in adult patients with focal onset seizures and primary generalized tonic clonic seizures. In addition, XEN1101 is being evaluated as a treatment for major depressive disorder in both a company-sponsored Phase 2 clinical trial, as well as an investigator-led proof-of-concept study. Xenon's proprietary, pediatric formulation of ezogabine, XEN496, is being studied in a Phase 3 clinical trial in young patients with KCNQ2-DEE, a rare and severe form of childhood epilepsy. We are also proud of the leading-edge science coming out of our discovery labs, where many innovative, early-stage research programs are underway. In addition to these proprietary programs, our pipeline includes clinical-stage partnered programs with valued collaborators. Backed by a strong balance sheet to support our growth plans, we continue to build a fully integrated, premier neuroscience company with strong discovery, clinical development, corporate, and commercial operations. 

About the Role: 
We are seeking aDirector, Value and Accessto join our team. The Director, Value and Access will be an integral member of the US Market Access team and the Commercial team and will lead the development and communication of the value proposition for XEN1101, as well as future products. The Director, Value and Access  will interact with internal stakeholders on the Commercial Team, Medical Affairs, and Clinical Development, and with external stakeholders.  An ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of industry experience with an entrepreneurial mindset as we build out this function for Xenon. 

This position reports to the Vice President, Market Access and will be located in the Boston, MA, USA location; we may consider other locations for an exceptional candidate. The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate's education and industry experience.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Develop and execute on the evidence-generation strategy focused on real-world data to support the value of the company's products with US customers, including government and commercial payers, PBMs, employers, and public and private health systems.
  • In conjunction with internal colleagues (market access, marketing, medical affairs) disseminate data to help communicate the value proposition/story for the company's products. Conduct a full evaluation of all available clinical trial data, real-world evidence, health economic data, and other information to understand the competitive landscape and develop a strategic and tactical plan for the company's lead product, XEN1101, as well as future products as the pipeline matures.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Development and Medical Affairs organizations to understand the data and information available in clinical trials, including completed and planned trials.
  • Provide input into clinical trial protocol development where appropriate (Phase II, Phase III, and post-marketing trials).
  • Determine critical opportunities and gaps in evidence generation.
  • Develop key value messages and clearly articulate the products' value stories internally.
  • Collaborate with medical affairs on the development of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Lead real-world evidence generation projects (retrospective and prospective), including publication, with external partners.
  • Lead the development of economic modeling for external payers (and other customers).
  • Build and manage the value and access team as the organization prepares for launch.
  • Develop and propose short- and long-term objectives for the function in accordance with overall Company strategies and plans.
  • Plan and manage budget proposals and approved budgets in accordance with the Company's strategic and operating plans and Finance policies.
  • Recruit, lead, direct, develop, coach and evaluate direct reports, if any, in accordance with the Company's Human Resource policies and practices.
  • Act in accordance with Company policies, including, for example, the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and ensure policies are understood and followed by direct reports, if any.
  • Some international travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) or training in epidemiology, public health, HEOR, biostatistics or related field preferred.
  • 10+years industry experience, with preference for experience in market access and/or value and evidence generation. 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with a variety of real-world data sources and observational research study design/execution in biotech/pharmaceuticals, consulting or academia.
  • Launch experience preferred.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Able to work independently under tight timelines and be willing to contribute significantly to day-to-day operations as needed.
