We are working with a cutting edge aerospace company expanding in OKC looking to hire a Director of US Programs
The Director of US Programs is an aerospace and defense executive who builds and leads a strong team of engineering professionals executing cutting-edge programs. This executive will ensure the business executes flawlessly on customer commitments, from product development through manufacturing of commercial and military unmanned aircraft. This includes the full life cycle management (development, production and sustainment) of all business programs. This individual will lead US and Five-Eyes program activity by managing communications and coordinating all required program activities through cross-functional teams. The focus includes, but is not limited to planning, development, engineering testing, product quality, production, cost, scheduling, performance, special project requirements, customer product requirements and operations/fulfillment issues. This role will also support non-US and non-Five-Eyes programs with delivery out of the US.
Job Description:
This position reports to the President of the company and develop the organization’s overall program management strategies, and directs and executes the management of the company programs.
They must develop a broad understanding of the strategic and operational needs that our products address and guide our internal R&D to best serve our customer’s current and future needs.
Represent the company in the planning, execution, reporting and management of multiple programs at an executive level.
Assist the BD Team in proposal preparations, supports negotiations, program start-ups and monitors program plans.
Responsible for the program progress and support requirements, and direct appropriate engineering, contracts, operations and support activities.
Customer conduit and seamless interface between external and internal customers for management and reporting of programs’ progress, program changes and improvements.
Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Working with finance, translates program budget allocations for functional organizational support and coordinates activities of various internal departments to ensure company satisfaction.
Participates in strategic planning and development of projects, recommends budget and establishes Program related Internal Research and Development priorities for engineering studies based on customer feedback, emerging technologies and future program-driven requirements.
Responsible for meeting customer requirements and responding to customer inquiries to insure prompt handling, monitoring progress of work performed under the program including preparing periodic reports and estimates of completion dates and prompt handling of customer problems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field
Experience minimum of 10 years
3+ years of program management experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates and runs the global schedule for program reviews which includes:
Gate reviews, specifics on financials/timing/risks
Determination of schedule, logistics, and frequency
Provides monthly updates to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) through business status reports
Supports the sales team by leading the development of quotations and proposals; identifies opportunities for growth within programs, and new potential projects. This leader will own the Proposal Management organization for the business.
Coordinates all required disciplines (engineering, purchasing, planning, manufacturing, quality and sales, etc.) to execute programs to customers’ expectations, meeting or exceeding quality and cost objectives. Makes required adjustments and recommends changes to maintain targeted margins.
