Overview:
Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union (SLFCU) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional for the position of Director of Total Rewards. The Director of Total Rewards will play a key role in supporting the design, implementation, and management of the organization's Total Rewards programs. This role requires a deep understanding of compensation, benefits, as well as strong analytical and project management skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the VP of HR to ensure the successful delivery of Total Rewards initiatives and support the organization's talent attraction and retention strategies.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop Total Rewards Strategy:
- Assist with the Design and implement a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy aligned with the organization's objectives, values, and budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, benchmarks, and best practices in compensation, benefits, and performance management.
2. Compensation Analysis and Administration
- Oversee the design and administration of SLFCU's compensation programs, including job evaluations, salary structures, and incentive plans.
- Conduct annual salary reviews, ensuring compliance with policies and market competitiveness to attract and retain high-performing employees.
- Collaborate with HRIS and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of compensation-related data.
3. Benefits Program Support:
- Manage the design, implementation, and administration of SLFCU's employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Support the evaluation of benefit plans, providers, and contracts, and provide recommendations for enhancements or changes.
- Collaborate with benefits providers to negotiate contracts, evaluate plan performance, and make recommendations for enhancements or changes.
- Assist in the development and delivery of benefits communication and education programs to employees.
4. Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of compensation and benefits professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Set performance goals and evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback and addressing any performance issues.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to compensation, benefits, and performance management to support decision-making and program evaluation.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on Total Rewards metrics, trends, and analysis for senior leadership and HR stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and filings related to Total Rewards programs.
6. Compliance and Governance:
- Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry standards related to compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Support the VP of HR in ensuring Total Rewards programs comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of required reports and filings related to Total Rewards programs.
7. Project Management and Collaboration:
- Support the VP of HR in leading and managing Total Rewards projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of Total Rewards programs with other HR and business processes.
- Assist in the implementation of technology solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Total Rewards processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or Total Rewards analysis and administration.
- Strong knowledge of compensation theories, methodologies, and practices.
- Familiarity with employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Understanding of performance management processes and performance-based reward systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to compensation, benefits, and performance management.
