Summary
Leads the Supply Planning process for one or more business segments of the Owens & Minor - Products and Healthcare Services (P&HS) business unit. Leads the supplier-facing supply chain organization supporting Sales and Supply Chain Operations by developing supply plans strategies to optimize on time/fill rate performance, inventory productivity, and supplier/manufacturing capacity utilization. Leads content creation owning supporting monthly Supply Review as part of the IBP process presenting the supply plan, its assumptions, drivers, actions, and risks & opportunities to minimize supply gaps. Develops supply-based unit and inventory plans to compare against annual business plans and financial forecast updates, as well as collaborative processes to gain alignment. Develops and monitors process metrics to drive process conformance, problem solving, and improvement. Leads and coordinates special programs, emergency responses, and other supplier/plant-focused projects. In coordination with the planning systems governance team, recommends parameters set-up, inventory strategy, MTS vs MTO, inventory segmentation, Cycle Stock, Safety Stock, MOV, MOQ, LT, and others; standard work, and the use of new or existing functionalities to improve overall Supply Planning performance. Keeps training schedules updated to make sure that existing and new users get the proper knowledge to plan effectively.
Core Responsibilities
  • Owns the Inventory in the Working Capital numbers and reviews. Drives to optimize the inventory while achieving service level targets to customers (Fill Rate) and minimize backorders and backorder aging.
  • Owns the Service Level (Fill Rate) to our customers. Set up the right targets, track performance, do root cause analysis, define corrective actions and champion the right cadences to review and improve service level to our customers.
  • Owns the Inventory in the Working Capital numbers and reviews. Drives to optimize the inventory while achieving service level targets to customers (Fill Rate) and minimize backorders and backorder aging.
  • Owns the Service Level (Fill Rate) to our customers. Set up the right targets, track performance, do root cause analysis, define corrective actions and champion the right cadences to review and improve service level to our customers.
  • Explains the inventory health (segmentation), projections and assumptions as well as identifies root causes and develops actions to close gaps to inventory targets.
  • Minimize the creation of inventory excess.
  • Use the operational inventory projections and assumptions to influence the financial forecasts and AOP (Annual Operating Plan). Being able to review inventory actuals vs projections and targets. Own root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions to close gaps.
  • Owns the Finished Good inventory and co-owns the RM and WIP portions together with Manufacturing and Kitting functions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to create master production schedules and align on service level targets from plants to DC's. Monitor and track performance.
  • Manage, mentor, and coach Supply Planning Teams. Responsible for department budget
  • Recommends and executes processes and system improvements.
  • Maintain and improve KPI's (key performance indicators) including service level, backorder, and inventory levels. Monitor and report.
  • Responsible for Supply Planning master data fields in SAP, Blue Yonder or any other planning platform.
  • Managing a team of supply chain managers, coordinators, and specialists who are responsible for planning and executing supply chain activities.
  • Works with cross functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Project Management, Packaging Development, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service and Demand Planning
  • Coordinates efforts with Strategic Sourcing and/or Quality to resolve supplier issues.
  • Communicates to senior management, in advance, potential supply chain interruptions along with possible solutions.
  • Partners with Strategic Sourcing in developing programs to mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Participates in budget development including monthly, quarterly, and inventory projections.
  • Reviews new supply scenarios to identify potential incidents/risks and their mitigation; determines if new plans are necessary to support changes in project schedules and opportunities.
  • Analyzes supplier feedback and monitors key performance indicators to improve the customer experience, increase return on investment, and identify new opportunities.
  • Uses status reports, executive business reviews, and storytelling to communicate data findings and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency of master data across business systems.
  • Manage the sterilizer and contract manufacturing process in North America Maintain the flow of product to ensure the timely issuance of sterile products.

Qualifying Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 12-15 years of experience in Supply Planning, Logistics, IBP, Supply Chain, Inventory Management; including Planning Systems in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
  • 10 years in Leadership roles in Supply Chain/Operations with experience in transformation, people management, executive communication and driving organizational and cultural change.
  • Systems development, and project management experience required.
  • Demonstrated success on building strong teams, developing people and manage high performance individuals.
  • Experience interacting with high senior levels in the organization, up to C-level. Being able to lead, sell, influence, and get support and adherence to the process. Creating a muti-functional environment to create one supply plan for the company/business.
  • Experience and ability to communicate clear messages to different levels in the organization, through strong presentation skills, including verbal, written and electronic presentations.
  • Extensive experience in Supply Planning systems.
  • Systems development, and project management experience required.
  • Experience utilizing Lean principles and tools (Flow, Pull, Kanban, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with multiple audiences (senior management, corporate/ commercial leaders, etc.)
  • Ability to act as a visionary, capable of identifying emerging technologies and successfully apply them to critical business problems.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, persuasion, and conflict management skills; proven ability to serve as champion for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated comfort dealing with large, demanding customers with complex distribution networks.
  • Proven ability and willingness to develop relationships with customers and internal functional partners.
  • Experience in all aspects of supply chain planning, management, and operations
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to manage large amounts of data and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to think and act strategically in the business while focusing on day-to-day operational execution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing, fast paced team environment.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning processes and tools (Demand/Supply Planning, etc)
  • Customer focused with a strong service orientation.
  • Excellent organizational and influencing skills and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment.
  • 25% Travel
