Responsibilities
A vacancy exists within the Division of Station Environment and Operations' Station Programs unit for the position of Director. This position oversees a unit that is responsible for coordinating all Capital Program projects with MTA Construction and Development (C&D), Station Maintenance, Station Field Operations and other departments and divisions, as well as private developers and other agencies (i.e., NYDOT) projects impacting stations. This unit monitors departmental needs by collecting data and reviewing construction documents from C&D, MTACC, MOW, outside projects, and gives needed support from the Division of Station Environment and Operations, which includes developing construction phasing, Engineering Force Accounts (EFA) cost estimates and TA Labor estimates. The selected candidate also will attend meetings throughout the different phases of projects and ensuring that all completed work meets operational requirements, scopes of work, contract specifications and drawings. This unit is responsible for conducting progress reports on construction and reviewing the safety of stations that are under construction. Works with the Capital Support Shop to ensure that contractor work is completed in accordance with building codes, NYCT requirements and meets safety specifications.
Education and Experience
A Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or a related field and a maximum of ten (10) years of rapid transit system or related industry, of which five (5) years shall have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity or
A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

- Strong negotiation, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of design/build construction practices and operations.
- Strong understanding of Station Operations and Station Maintenance Policy and Procedures.
- Experience managing complex and challenging projects that are large in scope and duration.

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
