JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Sales Operations & Technology is responsible for ensuring the management, administration, and implementation of various processes, systems and tools designed to improve sales productivity and effectiveness, including sales force automation/customer relationship management (SFA/CRM), incentive compensation, territory alignments, sales force planning, materials management, and vehicle programs. The individual will provide innovative solutions and maintain data integrity in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Working with the VP, Analytics & Operations, they will partner with commercial leadership to support field objectives and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Sales Planning initiatives, including sales force sizing and territory alignments, targeting and call planning, field reporting and incentive compensation to prepare for launch success and ensure corporate objectives and sales force effectiveness are achieved.
- Leverages alignment software and/or manages alignment vendor to conduct periodic field sales team alignment changes on an as-needed basis.
- Acts as business owner for CRM (Veeva) system and associated functionality to support efficient field sales team operations; provide support for integration of CRM functionality into data management and reporting systems.
- Coordinates with Medical Affairs as needed to ensure appropriate CRM functionality for the MSL team.
- Design and implement effective targeting, call planning and reporting solutions to support the sales team.
- Acts as commercial coordinator for data aggregation and reporting to Compliance department for all activities related to Sunshine Act/Aggregate spend. Within this context, oversees event management processes and alignment with Veeva to ensure a streamlined integration of aggregate spend data into various required reports.
- Maintains the fleet or vehicle reimbursement program, serves as vendor manager, and ensures the program's cost-effective implementation.
- Manages the field sales materials warehousing process and vendor.
- Administers an incentive compensation program that aligns with business strategies, inclusive of plan design and governance, goal setting, reporting, and payout processing. Participates cross-functional incentive compensation committee working with HR, Finance, and Commercial Leaders to govern, review, and approve incentive compensation.
- Manages the creation and delivery of on-boarding training for all new field staff to ensure effective understanding, use and compliance with key field systems (e.g., CRM, materials warehouse management, etc.).
- Creates a consistent approach, including standardized review process, for the development and distribution of all field-wide communications.
- Serves as a strategic partner with Sales & Marketing leadership related to sales planning initiatives.
- Builds and manages relationships with key vendors of systems, sales analytics, software, and consulting
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or Life Science discipline, and minimum of 10 years of related experience; or 8 years and a master’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires experience in bio/pharma industry in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, commercial analytics and/or Sales Operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Sales Force Automation, Veeva experience preferred
- Experience in building teams and in launching new products and services
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and able to develop and articulate actionable, fact-based, insights and recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective / collaborative working relationships with Commercial Leadership.
- Possesses an ability to translate technical, advanced analytics across the company into a clear narrative with recommendations to help improve our commercial business.
- Able to understand business requirements, propose solutions, gain alignment and successfully execute plans
- Able to coordinate and influence the efforts of cross-functional teams

The full-time salary range for this posted position is $200,000 to $220,000 and may be eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus. Actual pay rates are determined by considering multiple factors including qualifications, relevance of experience, education & credentials, subject matter expertise, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
