POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Controller, the Director of Revenue and Gross-to-Net Accounting will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of revenue recognition, gross-to-net accounting, and financial reporting. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Legal, and Compliance to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations while optimizing revenue strategies.
This position is remote, with a periodic presence at the Parsippany, NJ headquarters.
Primary responsibilities
* Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures as well as launch assumptions in accordance with GAAP and industry regulations
* Lead the gross-to-net accounting function, including accruals, reserves, and revenue forecasting
* Manage the inventory and cost manager
* Be the main point of contact with third-party vendor responsible for supporting the revenue accounting and reporting function
* Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and recognition
* Assess and implement revenue recognition software or tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
* Prepare and present financial reports, including revenue dashboards and analysis, to senior management and stakeholders
* Drive automation initiatives to streamline Revenue and gross-to-net accounting processes
* Research, plan, and execute process improvement projects
* Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, including ensuring completion of audit schedules and fulfilling auditor requests
* Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations related to the biotech industry
* Assist with special projects as needed
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred
* 9+ years of progressive experience in revenue recognition and gross-to-net accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
* Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry highly preferred
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606)
* Proficiency in applying GAAP and SEC disclosure rules
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Word and Outlook
* Knowledge of Great Plains and Management Reporter accounting software a plus
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
* Ability to work well independently and as a team member in time sensitive environment
* Unquestionable ethics and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive data
* Self-motivated, proactive, and detailed oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
* Excellent problem solving, solutioning, and analytical skills to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Strong work ethic and organizational skills
* Effective time management with an exceptional ability to prioritize and organize

Salary Statement:
Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.
California Salary Range: $215,000 to $230,000
New York City Salary Range: $190,000 to $205,000
Washington Salary Range: $190,000 to $205,000
