Job DescriptionAs a Director of Project Management, you are an integrated production lead at Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness. You own and manage several pieces of businesses across a portfolio of clients and are viewed as the operation lead for these businesses. You participate in pharmaceutical launch planning activities and guide a team throughout the launch planning experience. You will lead a team of mid to senior level project managers and impart a streamlined process based on flexibility, with quality of product, budget, and timing top of mind. The successful candidate will use their superior problem-solving skills, judgment, and excellent relationship-building skills to be a leader and mentor for your business portfolio and the agency overall.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor, thought leadership, flexibility, and the ability to handle the ambiguity that can present itself in your daily responsibilities
- Manage a team of Project Managers of varying levels across a portfolio of clients
- Understand how to manage the design and development of large pharmaceutical and wellness integrated advertising campaigns
- Versed in the strategic and planning process of pharmaceutical drug launching with a focus on operation excellence
- Responsible for presenting launch project plans that include multiple FDA scenarios to high-level clients while demonstrating the ability to identify any overall risks with an immediate solution at hand
- Functions as the "go to” expert with a focus on flexibility when evolving process and lead the team toward solutions
- Responsible for developing senior to executive-level relationships, creating an atmosphere where issues regarding staffing, team performance, budget and client satisfaction are discussed and actively resolved
- An agency leader, with a focused interest in operations and finding efficiencies in ways that work for the agency as well as clients
Scoping and Budget Tracking:
- Partner with the Account, Strategy and Finance team to develop scopes of work that have clear project descriptions, project assumptions, and align with staffing related to the specific tactic types
- Responsible for revising significant scope of work changes that will impact the overall client budget, staffing, and resources for the agency
- Partner with senior level department managers to properly phase agency staffing and budgets across fiscal years
- Educate your team on the fundamental economics and overall health of client business
- Partner with account management to lead scope of work negotiations with clients
Staff Development:
- Engage in the development of mid to senior team members through mentoring and training
- Create actionable development plans accompanied by effective, ongoing dialogue with your team (including difficult, timely feedback)
- Mentor PM staff members on understanding project risks and proper escalation points
- Mentor senior level team members across other departments in problem solving and course correcting projects
- Participate in recruiting and hiring practices
- Participate in department initiatives and programs
- 8-10 years Project Management experience in an advertising or marketing environment including:
- 4+ years of experience working in pharmaceutical advertising
- 2+ years of experience in launching a new drug or drug indication to market
- 4+ years of experience managing and mentoring direct reports
- Demonstrated breadth of project experience including (but not limited to) big idea development, campaign execution, content production, digital and social media executions, and standard websites
- Self-starter who can manage multiple streams of business independently
- Solutions-oriented with the ability to communicate clearly and proactively with clients, internal department lead, and agency leaders
- Highly knowledgeable practitioner of various Project Management methodologies and workflows, showing a love for using and often blending the best of these to solve business needs
Additional Information
Compensation Range: $91,000 - $ 154,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
