Primary Purpose of Position
This is a 12-month full-time position with administration responsibilities and reports to the Program Director, the Director of Student Scholarship and Research will provide oversight of Students' capstone projects. Duties include but are not limited to collaborating with the program director in designing the capstone project; play a key role in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities that facilitate research development efforts of Students and faculty; engaging in classroom instruction; advise and maintain mentor relationship with assigned students; maintain a working knowledge of the ARC-PA standards and ensure their compliance within the curriculum; working closely with the program director to ensure accuracy of program reporting; serving on committees assigned; assisting with the student selection process; performing any other responsibilities delegated by the PA Program Director.

Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to:
Responsible for engaging stakeholders across North Carolina A&T community and identifying collaborators for student projects.
Course Director for Medical Seminar course
Provide Instruction in Pathophysiology and Introduction to Medicine course.
Work with administrative team to coordinate shell course shell build outs.
monitoring of Student performance and maintaining of Student's program record.
Update student handbook annually as it relates to Capstone projects.
Provide plans for improvement based on student, program leadership, and faculty feedback.
Maintain a working knowledge of the PA Program Competencies and how the capstone projects support meeting the program competencies.
Provide curriculum to support student research and capstone projects.
Recruitment and mentorship of faculty in Capstone support roles.
Provider leadership for Annual Capstone Research Symposium.
Provider oversight and support to the program Evidence-Based Medicine course.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Master's Degree
Prior research (Quantitative and Qualitative) experience
Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
High degree of organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Doctorate degree preferred
5+ years in PA education experience
5+ years as a clinically practicing PA
Have excellent interpersonal skills
Have strong critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proficient written and verbal language skills
Required License or Certification
Eligible for PA licensure in North Carolina
Current NCCPA certification
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies.
