Job Overview:
The Director of Strategic Financial Planning & Service Line Reporting will assist with facilitating the development of financial modeling in support of System strategic priorities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Strategic Planning and development for the System and financial evaluation of business development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience with financial planning and analysis, financial forecasting & data management.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proven experience and competency with trend analysis.
- Strong technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience working with data management systems and/or business intelligence applications.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with Senior Management and Staff at all levels of the organization.
Preferred:
- MBA or Master s Degree of Public Health in Health Care Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant.
- Experience with consolidations of complex organizations with multiple facilities/business units.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability.
- Develop strong business knowledge of service line functions to support business planning and development.
- Perform financial forecasting, feasibility and/or sensitivity analysis.
- Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenue and expenses.
- Manage an integrated business planning process across all functions.
- Partner with the Decision Support team to understand the cost financial cost accounting system and its application toward Service Line reporting and the development of Strategic business plans.
- Support the Vice President with reports on financial operations of strategies consummated to measure performance against the planning assumptions utilized in developing the business plans.
- Offer suggestions for improvement of resource utilization and modifies underlying budget forecasts.
- Provides financial modeling and business advice in conjunction with the System s academic and research strategies.
- Develop and maintain cross functional relationships with key members of the business to understand; key business drivers and their outcomes, identify opportunities for efficiency and growth and demonstrate deep financial understanding of the business.
- Meet with Service Line leadership and business units with relevant financial data for understanding their operations and issues/root causes impacting financial performance.
- Support organization needs in business integration strategies.
