Who we want on our team:

Oberg Industries is seeking an experienced Director of Quality to lead our quality efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, process improvement methodologies, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing Oberg’s Quality Certifications (ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485 and 21 CFR Part 820), leading internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and industry standards, developing, and implementing quality strategies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.  The Director of Quality will also be responsible for leading a team of Quality professionals and collaborating with other departments to achieve company goals.


What you will do in your role:

  • Collaborate with all functional areas of the company to successfully support and maintain Oberg’s quality certifications.
  • Spearhead the implementation of Quality systems, customer requirements, and standards/regulations, ensuring the integrity of the quality management system are maintained throughout changes.
  • Assess, analyze, and present data related to factors such as production capabilities, manufacturing challenges, cost of Quality, and other business metrics or issues pertaining to improvements in the quality management system.
  • Direct and manage all divisional Quality Managers within Oberg Industries.
  • Lead initiatives for process enhancement and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure product compliance with REACH, RoHS, PFAS, and other relevant regulations.
  • Facilitate Oberg Industries ESG Program.
  • Oversee the calibration program, validation program and relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain alignment with the company’s quality management system, standards, regulations and performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with upper management and divisional leaders to develop company policies, operational procedures, and quality goals, fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and initiate appropriate training programs to support Oberg’s quality management system.
  • Lead and direct subordinate managers and supervisors as designated, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives, while coaching and mentoring them to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Manage quality staff, including overseeing the interview, selection and hiring processes, facilitating employee communication, guiding career planning process and supervising the employee disciplinary process.

 

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management or a related field required or may substitute sufficient experience in a related field with professional standard certification in lieu of collegiate degree.
  • Previous experience establishing quality programs.
  • ISO9001 experience required.
  • FDA with Medical Device/Contract Manufacturer (GMP) highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and software, ie. Minitab, QC Calc, SPC, DOE.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to understand written correspondence and interpret various customer and regulatory requirements to ensure proper implementation for compliance.
  • Ability to work well with peers and customers to solve complex problems in an accelerated time frame.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of employees and customers.
  • Must have a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses and safety shoes.

 

Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly have to travel through various manufacturing departments.  The atmosphere is a climatic office setting, and the employee will spend the majority of time in transit.  The employee will be required to travel to all Oberg Industries divisional locations.  This position requires on-site work.  Remote work options are not available.
