Job Description
The Director of Quality Assurance (DQA) reports to the Senior Director of Technical Services and is
responsible for ensuring that the quality standards set forth in this manual are accomplished and
acts in the capacity of the 14 CFR 119.65 position of Chief Inspector.
Specific
A. Ensures the quality standards set forth in the Mesa Airlines, Inc. General Procedures Manual
(GPM) are met and are revised as necessary to ensure the highest level of safety and
compliance with Code of Federal Regulations.
B. Responsible for the effectiveness of the Mesa Airlines, Inc. Continuous Airworthiness
Maintenance Program through the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance Program.
C. Delegates the authority for the CASS Management and effectiveness to the Director of
Engineering and CASS.
D. Ensures all Mesa Airlines, Inc. and aircraft manufacture manuals defined in the Mesa Airlines,
Inc. General Procedures Manual (GPM), as part of the Maintenance Manual System, are
available and kept current.
E. Responsible for tracking, recording, and responding to FAA correspondence applicable to the
Maintenance (MX) and Quality Assurance (QA) Departments.
F. Acts as one of the primary Company liaisons to the FAA. Any questions or Company business
that deals with the FAA must go through one of the identified primary Company contacts.
Requirements
A. Hold a Mechanic's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings and have held these
ratings for at least three years.
B. Have at least three years of maintenance experience on different types of large aircraft with 10
or more passenger seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station, one year of which
must have been as an inspector.
C. Have at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category
and class of aircraft as Mesa Airlines, Inc. uses.
