Job Responsibilities :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Product Development, has an unbridled passion for audio, the THX brand, and for content creation.
- Envision, research and oversee creation and enhancement of audio products that fill a niche in the market and/or allow THX clients to remain competitive.
- Determine product specifications according to a number of various factors and uses.
- Support engineering and design activities by producing and/or developing prototypes for products in development.
- Consult market research materials and sales data to ensure that products are viable and competitive.
- Submit proposals and designs for evaluation by the project teams and management
- Manage project conception, development, and implementation of all products within the brand.
- Collaborate with SVP of Technology to determine the best engineering solution/architecture for each project.
- Write and/or review product specifications.
- Support complex Product Development projects. This position manages multiple activities including planning, costing, engineering, prototyping, testing and commercialization.
- Provide “technical liaison” services as a go-between OEM & ODM partners and licensed technology companies.
- Provide technical support for the sales team to create technology demos, information, one-sheets, pitch decks, and be available for sales meetings with potential partners.
- Provide critical listening and subjective evaluation of partner projects to provide tuning services (aka Tuned by THX) for OTE headphones, gaming headsets, and TWS earbud products using tools provided by partners.
- Interface with certification and licensing partners for plug-in platform and development licenses.
- Identify, communicate with and work closely with musicians, producers, podcasters, and other content creators.
- Communicate to appropriate departments any possible production risks, product integrity issues and regulatory risks.
- Create and pitch product concepts and business cases both internally and externally.

- Must have extensive experience working with DAWs and DAW plug-ins (VST, AAX, etc.)
- Must have extensive experience producing and mixing audio for spatial audio production
- Must have a basic knowledge of music theory and composition.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Development, and 2 years of experience developing spatial audio solutions
- Able to manage product from creation to launch.
- Experience working with engineering teams.
- Experience in primary customer research.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, must demonstrate analytical and critical thinking.
- Ability to work effectively within and across teams as well as with individuals of all levels.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-entity environment
- Strong track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
- Good design and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Salary Ranges (per annum):
$131,040.00 - $281,876.00
