POSITION SUMMARY:
Assumes responsibilities for all aspects of Pharmacy Distribution and Clinical Services. This includes, but is not limited to, legal requirements, staffing, record-keeping, licensing, formulary, Pharmacy and Therapeutics agenda, and clinical functions. Responsible for all shifts, 7 days/ week, 24 hours/day. Incumbents are subject to overtime and callback as required by UTHET.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for management of daily activities in order to provide optimal pharmaceutical care.
- Active and unrestricted pharmacy license in the state of Texas.
- Responsible for design and implementation of a schedule according to policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate staffing.
- Assists in preparation and implementation of budgets using accepted standards and guidelines to meet organizational financial targets.
- Facilitates and/or serves on committees as requested to represent the organization professional affiliations.
- Prepares and reviews all departmental policies and procedures by integrating them into our systems and ensuring compliance and communication.
- Develops and manages the educational programs provided by the pharmacy services through staff development ensuring appropriate training and credentialing is maintained.
- Provides leadership, direction and support for the department & employees through evaluation of products/services, analysis of operations, implementation of workload standards and compliance with UTHET Policies, Procedures, Mission and other legal/professional standards.
- This position supervises Clinical Pharmacists, Staff Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians
Qualifications
Education:
- BS or Phar.D. Degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy
- MBA preferred
Experience:
- 3 years’ staff pharmacist + 2-year management experience, or
- 6 years’ staff pharmacist with evidence of delegated responsibilities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $106,074.66 - $190,000.00 per year
