Job Description
Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Payroll Manager. This Payroll Manager will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department and will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. This may be the role for you if you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven.
Major responsibilities
- Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants
- Settle issues and respond to all questions related to payroll
- Regulate system upgrades and the processing of Payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)
- Engage with accounting and Human Resources (HR) teams
- Handle payroll tax audits and collaborate with auditors
- Comply with internal policies and relevant laws
- Arrange payroll systems and timekeeping
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
- Generate systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments

- Solid grasp on current payroll procedures and related laws- Comfortable with payroll applications
- Knowledge in compliance
- Leadership and organizational skills
- 5+ years of Payroll experience
- Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
- CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
- 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Superb understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
