General Description:
Organize and oversee daily manufacturing operations of the company. Analyze data and metrics to evaluate staff performance, lead and motivate employees to maximize performance and ensure the various departments within the company maximize their efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration. Streamline the manufacturing operations to meet customer On Time Delivery (OTD) while achieving 100% quality. Safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s manufacturing operations and utilize problem solving skills to make sound decisions that ensure company objectives are met, facilitate accelerated development, and ensure long-term success.

Essential Functions include the following (other duties may be assigned):
• Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast operation department budgets and cost of sales to achieve financial objectives.
• Lead coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, quality, and sales departments to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
• Successfully execute (i.e.: on time delivery, meet or improve on the budget, 100% quality) customer orders by ensuring efficient procurement and planning processes, departmental staffing and training, and resource allocation.
• Ensure overall cost-effective design and manufacture of product through participation in bid reviews, design reviews, coordination of new product introduction, and efficient use of manpower and capital resources.
• Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Drive continuous improvement culture and methodology throughout the company, working with all other departments so the Company works together toward the same goals.
• Collaborate with company leadership and management to build an environment of collective responsibility, accountability and evolutionary improvement.
• Participate in strategic planning and budgeting, and oversee efficient financial management of manufacturing operation departments.
• Oversee manufacturing, materials (purchasing and planning), shipping/receiving, process and manufacturing engineering and facility functions, ensuring each is effectively supporting the company while reaching goals set by department and company leadership.
• Review, analyze, and evaluate manufacturing operations business procedures.
• Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
• Ensure all regulatory, legal and contractual requirements are adhered to, and work environments are adequate, safe and OSHA compliant.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
• Keen business sense with strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and ability to find creative business-oriented solutions.
• Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Understand practices, theories, and policies involved in business, including in depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g.: supply chain, finance, customer service, production, employee management, etc.)
• Superior verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, suppliers and customers.
• Superior managerial skills, including planning, execution, follow through, organization and risk mitigation.
• Superior leadership skills, including vision, initiative, collaboration, motivation and impediment removal.
• Broad understanding of RF, electrical and mechanical disciplines; with fiber optic a plus.
• Excellent negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.
• Knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
• Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines (e.g.: DFARS, DPAS, OSHA, etc.).

Education/Experience:
• Bachelors Degree in related field, or equivalent experience
• Lean training, six sigma green belt or black belt is desired but not required. Leading and facilitating Kaizen events is preferred.
• Extensive and diversified manufacturing background with at least 10 years of related experience, in the production of RF/microwave products in a custom engineered environment preferred. A background in defense and RF products a plus.
• Demonstrated success as operations director or manager, including a minimum of 5 years supervising or managing personnel and multiple interdisciplinary departments.
• Currently active, or has the ability to obtain, a DoD Secret level PCL.
