New York's Top selling bread companies that sell to many of New York’s top restaurants and gourmet grocery stores,
and currently operates three retail bakeries—on the Upper East Side and the Upper West
Side in Manhattan, and in Roslyn Heights, Long Island is seeking a Director of Operations to join their team.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a strong leader who can oversee all aspects of Operations including
warehousing and logistics within our large-scale bakery. This person must be well-versed in
food manufacturing and warehouse operations and is comfortable managing multiple
warehouses (ambient and frozen) and overseeing inbound and outbound shipments. This role
requires someone who is safety-obsessed and will ensure a safe, clean, and highly-productive
work environment. This person must be a positive, solution-oriented team player, with
excellent communication and managerial skills. This role will report to the COO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership, strategic thinking, and execution of warehouse opera8ons, prioritizing
- Manages the team that handles transportation and logistics between our facilities,
offsite locations
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule
machinery
- Partner with our Culinary Director and work closely with the production and packing teams
- Develop and implement SOPs
- Establish and/or enforce all polices that ensure employee safety and food safety
- Bring a ‘24/7 Presence’, regularly on-the floor during off-hours and weekends
- Provide on-the-floor training, support, and mentorship to your team
- Develop Logistics talent of the team to build skills and competency within the organization
- Communicate any operational issues and work with department heads
- Meet weekly with the leadership team to report and explain weekly KPI’s, challenges, and
- Lead the development and roll-out of supply chain analytics capabilities that will provide the
- Continuously seek out opportunities for process improvements to generate savings for the
- Manage established budget and provides periodic budget reports to management
- Support all established plant and departmental goals and objectives
ABOUT YOU:
- 6+ years experience in a manufacturing environment (food, CPG, or beverage a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferable
- Strong technical skills in process improvements, and materials management
- Ability to navigating changing business demands and comfortable working in an
- Ability to cultivate buy-in cross functionally to drive initiatives forward.
- Experience managing budgets and financially accountable.
- Able to work a flexible/variable schedule, including early mornings and evenings,
- Friendly, personable, punctual, and dependable.
