We are currently looking for a caring and dedicated Registered Nurse to fill an opening for Director of Nursing Services to be responsible for the overall operation of the Nursing Department.

- Attend and contribute to Leadership and daily stand up meetings
- Ensures the 24-hour staffing pattern meets the nursing needs of residents. Provides 24-hour accountability by assigning designated resources (ADNS, Education/Compliance Director, Infection Preventionist, Case Managers, RN's and/or LPN's)
- Train, supervise, and complete annual reviews for some nursing staff
- Ensures nursing care follows the nursing policies and procedures, acceptable Standards of Care, Standard of Practice and WAC's
- Monitors department to stay within the budget
- Assists in providing Health Care services as necessary
- Oversees resident care. Monitors for quality and resident satisfaction
- Advises family members, administration, and other appropriate parties of significant changes in health of residents
- Assists in the coordination of resident inter-facility transfers and hospitalizations
- Communicates with medical director concerning resident-care problems, health trends of individual residents and other medically related matters, and implements recommendations to ensure maintenance of residents' health
- Communicates in a professional, courteous, accurate, and timely manner with: residents, family, significant others, physicians, visitors, volunteers, health care team members, and other staff members.
- Oversees preparation for annual state survey
- Investigates incidents and reports to the administrator and DSHS as needed and prepares plan of correction
- Oversees care plan process, assures proper charting according to federal and state regulations
- Participates in the resident review process. Attends resident care conferences as needed
- Coordinates services of consultant providers including therapists, hospice, pharmacist, dentist, etc.
- Ensures policies and procedures are updated and communicated to nursing staff
- Collaborates annually with staff and peers reviewing nursing home goals and objectives
- Approves timecards for each employee assigned to DNS
- Serves on appropriate Garden Village committees
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will be a committed professional who has the following qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
- Minimum of five years' experience and two years recent experience in geriatrics and/or behavioral health care
- Must have successful previous management experience and must be able to perform a vital leadership role in directing the delivery of health care services for residents.
- Must be willing to work as a member of a team with other departments, staff, residents, families, government agencies, and other professionals and outside organizations.
- Must have proven leadership and administrative skills with a professional demeanor, speaking and writing abilities.
Salary Description
$125k - $140k per year
