Position Summary: Intensive Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an exceptional Director of Nursing (RN) with previous management and psychiatric experience at the inpatient Psychiatric Unit in Shreveport, LA. The Director plans, directs, organizes, leads, and coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Behavioral Health Inpatient Department. He/She develops and implements policies and procedures which are consistent with JCAHO, OSHA, state, and local requirements, oversees the clinical care provided to patients, coordinates community education and referral development, quality assurance, works with the Administration to develop long range planning, budgeting, staffing, contributes and participates in all committees, as well as the management of employees and payroll for the psych department.

Responsibilities:
- Serves as a resource to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
- Rounds frequently throughout the shift identifying issues that need administrative action and communication forward to appropriate level.
- Supervises and leads staff effectively.
- Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned area.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Must hold a current state or compact state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
- CPR Certification
- Supervisory experience with knowledge of psychiatric inpatient regulatory standards and treatment preferred
- One year of Nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse nursing experience a plus
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must read, write, and speak English
