Nursing Director - Dual Diagnosis Treatment and Recovery Center
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced nursing director to lead our team of nurses and clinical staff in providing quality care to patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our 4-6 week residential program, across multiple sites in Otsego, Shakopee, Chaska, and Eden Prairie ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, managing staff schedules and performance, coordinating with other departments and external partners, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
To be successful in this role, you must have a valid RN license and a minimum of five years of experience in psychiatric or substance abuse nursing, preferably in a leadership position. You must also have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts. You must be familiar with the principles and practices of dual diagnosis treatment and recovery, including evidence-based interventions, medication management, crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and discharge planning. You must also be committed to promoting a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion among staff and patients.
As a nursing director, you will:
· Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Nursing and clinical staff, providing feedback, coaching, training, and disciplinary actions as needed
· Ensure that staff adhere to ethical and professional standards of care, as well as state and federal regulations and accreditation requirements
· Monitor and maintain adequate staffing levels, supplies, equipment, and medication inventory for the program
· Collaborate with the medical director, program director, therapists, case managers, and other staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
· Coordinate with external agencies and providers to facilitate referrals, admissions, transfers, discharges, and follow-up services for patients
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, surveys, and accreditation processes
· Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure best practices in dual diagnosis treatment and recovery
· Provide direct patient care as needed, including conducting assessments, administering medications, providing education, and responding to emergencies
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records and reports
· Represent the program in internal and external meetings and committees
Qualifications:
· Valid RN license in the state of employment
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field preferred
· Minimum of five years of experience in psychiatric or substance abuse nursing
· Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
· Certification in psychiatric or substance abuse nursing preferred
· Knowledge of dual diagnosis treatment and recovery principles and practices
· Knowledge of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards
· Proficiency in electronic health records systems
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
· Ability to handle stress, conflict, and crisis situations
· Commitment to respect, diversity, and inclusion
· Current TB/Mantoux screening

Pay: $86,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
