We are a small skilled nursing facility of 75 dually certified beds in the Davenport, Iowa area. Responsibilities:
- Control nursing budgets and monitor the department's expenditures.
- Set objectives and long term goals for the nursing department.
- Develop, coordinate, and organize admissions, nursing, and patient care policies and procedures.
- Develop, direct, and empower all nursing personnel (RNs, LPNs, MTs, and CNAs)
- Hire, terminate, and build a strong nursing staff.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and professionals to streamline operations.
- Serves as a clinical resource and foster a positive work environment that supports and motivates the clinical team.
- Develop and implement new company policies and programs regarding best clinical practices and resident care plans.
- Maintain a high level of clinical competency, including on-going awareness of clinical best practices to align regulatory requirements and organizations strategic plans.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Director of Nursing
- 5 years of RN experience (required)
- 2 years of DON Experience (required)
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding skilled nursing
- Experience building a team of hard working and trustworthy healthcare professionals
- Great communication skills with team members and family members
- Excellent communicator with ability to handle concurrent tasks and responsibilities
- Strong ability to lead and develop your team
