Job Information:

Grand Traverse Pavilions is seeking a Director of Nursing. This role has administrative authority and responsibility for the development and maintenance of Nursing service objectives, scheduling of daily rounds to meet with residents, methods for coordination of Nursing services with other resident services, coordination, and monitoring of the care of constituents, recommending the number and levels of Nursing employees, and ensuring ongoing staff development.
Work hours are based on the traditional business work week but will have some flexibility. May be required to flex hours based on facility needs. The right candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and at least two years of management experience in skilled nursing. Experience with Point Click Care is essential.

Tasks:

  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal Nursing Home regulations as they apply to provision of Nursing care.
  • Recommend number and levels of Nursing employees.
  • Ensure provision of orientation and a continuing staff development/in-service program for nursing employees.
  • Ensure employees are scheduled per approved staffing patterns.
  • Supervise and organize program of employee evaluation and competency including levels of disciplinary activity as necessary.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings with nursing management to review and obtain input for departmental policies and procedures.
  • Make admission recommendations based on resident needs, staffing levels, employee qualifications, equipment availability, and provisions of the Resident Care Policies.
  • Supervise the level of care determinations to ensure that residents are assigned the level of care according to their nursing care requirements.
  • Facilitate and coordinate quality constituent care with other departments through routine daily and weekly communications.
  • Supervise the scheduling of Care Conferences to initiate and maintain constituent care planning and communication with families, all levels of Nursing employees and other professional disciplines involved in constituent care.
  • Participate as a member of the QAPI, Infection Control Committee, Safety Committee, and other committees as assigned.
