JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director of Logistics and Inventory Management will have the responsibility of leading all efforts related to ensuring timely deliveries, Inventory Management through PRE operated facilities, unloading deliveries, closing our projects, and ensuring competitive logistics costs. The Director will drive continuous improvement and ensure all activities are being performed in accordance with our safety policy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a team of Logistics professionals including Sr Manager, Manager and Supervisor level employees. Total number of team member 30+.
- Champion efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes. Identifies problems and proposes solutions to other members of senior management.
- Implement best practices for Inventory Management and warehouse operations to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Interface with Vendors at the right levels to provide delivery forecasts and understand risks to execute a mitigation plan
- Work with Operation Leadership to define processes where Logistics can best serve the construction team
- Manage project excess and reserve materials to ensure material storage and logistics costs are kept to a minimum by working with Purchasing Team and Construction teams for deployment.
- Create and maintain material part numbers for ease of warehousing and accuracy of shipments.
- Audit project logistics costs to determine accuracy and opportunities for improvements.
- Works to define and manage Master Data Management program to provide appropriate level of visibility to key BOM
- Manage logistics budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or efficiency.
- Present recommendations for process improvement to Operations and Supply Chain leadership
- Takes responsibility for the overall logistics, inventory programs and strategic initiatives to ensure a competitive
- Builds relationships with suppliers and Project leadership. Ensures appropriate level of communication to best understand areas of improvement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in business administration or equivalent strongly
- Experience in construction required. Experience with solar preferred.
- Preference given for bilingual
- 10+ years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain
- Experience in Microsoft (Word, Excel, ) is required.
- Experience and skill with SAP or similar ERP system strongly preferred
- Possess strong team building
- Experience with Inventory Management/MDM
- Multi-task and provide support to multiple clients
- Ability to travel as needed (approximately 20-40%)
Targeted Salary - $170-200K & Bonus
