Position Overview:
As the Learning & Development Director at The Boca Raton, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of our team members. You will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive learning programs that enhance associate performance, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and align with the resort's commitment to achieving 25 Forbes Travel Guide five-stars by 2025.
The ideal candidate performs gap analysis and evaluates individual and organizational development needs and pro-actively delivers solutions across the organization. The candidate can systematically design, develop and deliver instructional materials and experiences, both digital and physical. The Learning & Development Director ensures effective learning takes place, supporting business needs and is fiscally effective. Implementation of various learning methods companywide like new hire orientation and onboarding, coaching, job shadowing and developing on-line training. A sound associate development journey is designed and delivered, helping managers develop their teams through dynamic career pathing. Oversees two direct reports, the dedicated F&B L&D Manager and Rooms L&D Manager.

Essential Functions
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
1. Management
- Manage and lead the Learning and Development team and strategy across the organization
- Track budgets and negotiate contracts
- Work with internal and external Learning experts
- Hire and oversees training and L&D specialists
2. Training Delivery
- Designing instructional learning content for classroom, e-learning and workshop formats
- Oversee the planning and design of training plans and schedules
- Leading the company culture and new associate and Manager Orientation classes
- Delivering organizational training classes, classroom when needed
- Managing and conducting web based and digital training classes
- Using technology to communicate training and standards updates (Ex. LMS - Beekeeper, Trainual, ADP, Monday.com, Microsoft Teams)
3. Documentation
- Designing training materials , following The Boca Raton training methodology and framework
- Updating materials and keeping the tool box up -to-date
- Designing digital SOP and onboarding content and digital frames
4. Support
- Supporting the organization, Head of Departments and Departmental Trainers with recognition, structure and training strategy
- Leading the Departmental Trainer community and develop them further, sit on their training sessions and coach where needed
- Embedding TBR culture and tools with all associates and departments
- Observing and analyzing associate performance against standards, which includes, grooming, policy, morale and training
- Maintain data logs and analysis on training needs and gaps
- Support the business with a needs analysis and pro-active actions
- Performing Quality Assurance checks on a regular basis
5. Develop
- Develop Trainers in the department and departmental trainers
- Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of Learning opportunities
- Support and maintain an associate journey development program
- Designing career plans
- Work closely with HR and align performance review development plans into actionable training /education plans
Internal Relationships
Reports to the Chief People & Culture Officer in the Human Resources office. The Learning & Development Director, however, will work across all departments and supports the entire organization.
External Relationships
Has regular contact with Leadership of the Resort and all Head of Departments and Departmental trainers. As well as third party trainers and L&D contractors.
