ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Information Technology (IT) will ensure the smooth operation of computer and phone systems throughout Grand Living and will manage projects that streamline IT processes and improve both the end user and customer experience. He or she will maintain the day-to-day IT operations required internally, including system maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting, ensuring that the company’s IT infrastructure is up and running, enabling team members to do their jobs and the company to achieve its goals. The Director of IT will be the first point of contact for all IT support requests, will handle incident response and resolution, and will monitor system performance to minimize downtime and disruptions.

In addition, in collaboration with contract IT vendors, this position will be responsible for implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols, monitoring for potential threats, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant security standards. The Director of IT will also research and propose solutions to streamline the procurement, deployment, and tracking of end user IT Equipment, including obtaining supplier quotes, documenting costs/benefits, and presenting recommendations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Hardware/Software Requests

  • Procure and deploy technology equipment for new hires
  • Process access requests and manage access to network and business services
  • Implement Asset Request and Security Access process

Inventory Management

  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of all technology equipment, such as laptops, monitors, iPads, iPhones, printers, company issued cell phones, etc.

Provide Technical Support to Users

  • Communicate with local and remote users in person, on the phone, or via email to resolve issues
  • Plan, launch and continuously build upon FAQ and troubleshooting site/knowledge library for commonly encountered challenges
  • Implement Work Order/Service Ticketing technical solution

Managing Projects

  • Research new technologies to address business needs or technology gaps
  • Prepare training materials and documentation to educate team members on utilizing technology
  • Assist with the development of Grand Living's IT Strategic Road Map
  • Assist with solution deployments/conversions

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS


Experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of desktop or help desk experience
  • Three (3) to five (5) years as an IT Manager
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair technical issues via a remote environment
  • Experience managing IT projects and deploying solutions

Education

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other similar degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred or combination of education and relevant work experience

Certifications Preferred

  • Certified Information Technology Manager (CITM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
  • Microsoft-Certified
  • HDI Desktop Support Technician Certification

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite / 365 applications
  • Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support a company’s goals
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interest in both learning and teaching
