The East Windsor Public Schools (EWPS) is looking for a Director of Human Resources who will build and lead a professional Human Resources office, providing the vision and direction for cultivating an exceptional employee experience through the full employee life cycle while managing strategic priorities and operations that support the EWPS strategic plan.
We are looking for someone who is focused and organized, someone who is willing to both learn and lead, coach and be coached. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in a public school setting, and bring working knowledge in the areas of employee recruitment/retention, contract negotiations, and benefits administration.

The Director of Human Resources will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Implementation of an employee experience plan aligned with the strategic priorities and operations of the district's central office.
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive new hire onboarding strategy.
- Develop and maintain a suite of Human Resources and talent management training, tools, and resources for managers on HR best practices and internal systems & processes.
- Advise leaders on strategies to build and sustain employee engagement and retention with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Based on organizational needs and best practices, identify, recommend, and implement operational improvements that streamline internal HR processes.
- Track and manage budget expenditures, maximizing allocated resources and ensuring work is completed on time, within scope and budget to meet and/or exceed goals and deadlines.
- Partner with the Director of operations to coach, train, and advise managers and staff regarding employee relations, talent management, and Human Resources.
- Diagnose departmental and organizational challenges, and collaborate to identify, strategize, and resolve problems.
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Director of Human Resources must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
- HR Certification: PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred
Experience Required:
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct Human Resources leadership experience.
- Significant project and change management experience with a proven record of successfully building, improving, and maintaining strategic HR systems and programs.
- Experience collaborating with senior leadership in Human Resources related matters in a complex organization.

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience. EWPS offers an exceptional benefits package, including four weeks paid vacation, pension eligibility, and 80% company coverage of premium health insurance plans.
