Position Summary:

The Director of HR Operations is responsible for developing and maintaining HR processes, operations and efficiencies that provide outstanding client focused support to the business. Bringing insight, diagnostic skills and the ability to deliver 'hands on' solutions across the people agenda. This includes the development and management of the global HR Operations team to provide the business with a proactive and highly regarded service. The Director of HR Operations, with this expanded scope, plays a crucial role in shaping a comprehensive HR strategy that encompasses benefits, wellness, payroll, HRIS, data management, and compensation to support organizational goals and foster a positive employee experience. Fried Frank has a hybrid work model and currently works 3 days in the office/2 days remote.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Management and Leadership

  • Provide strategic thinking, creativity and understanding of the department's responsibilities, function, and role within the Firm.
  • Establishes and communicates a clear and shared vision and strategy that supports organizational objectives. Uses strategic influence to translate vision into action.
  • Lead a team of Senior Managers and Specialists, providing ongoing management, coaching and development.
  • Motivates and empowers others, model's behavior, proactively resolves issues, and inspires trust in others. Demonstrates initiative, drive, flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Proactively engage with key stakeholders and internal clients to ensure best-in-class service delivery and address any issues or concerns.
  • Provide leadership and coaching across the wider Human Capital Management team.
  • Mentors team members in providing regular guidance and thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Project Management capabilities and organizational skills are key.
  • Budget management responsibilities across the HR Operations space.
  • Ongoing partnership with other functional areas such as Tax and Finance.
  • Ongoing partnership with external partners such as Mercers, Employment Lawyers and others to ensure best in class offerings across the HR Operations space.

People Data Management & HR Administrative Processes

  • Utilize data analytics to derive insights and support HR decision-making
  • Research, selection and implementation of a global HR technology platform (HRIS) to achieve one source data and maximize integration with other systems used across the firm
  • Proactively address and manage all cost saving strategies, such as negotiating contracts with HR suppliers and third parties
  • Ongoing HRIS development including process automation, increased self-service functionality and creation of dashboards to proactively provide insightful analytics and management information
  • Complete core administrative process review encompassing the full employee lifecycle including process mapping, updating and centralization to provide an efficient and streamlined service
  • Review of related HR operational policies, external HR communication and templates
  • Along with HR Leadership team, work to centralize all HR data administration, to enhance efficiencies and streamline processing
  • Review of global people data to ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency

Payroll

  • Proactive leadership and engagement with our Payroll Manager
  • Review of global payroll processes and external payroll providers to ensure accurate, efficient and timely processes
  • Lead and ensure appropriate audits are undertaken, managed and achieved
  • Partnership with the Tax and Finance team to address monthly accounting and payment requirements
  • Stay current on payroll regulations and compliance requirements

  • Management of annual benefit schemes renewal process and third-party vendor management
  • Management of benefits budget

Compensation Management

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of compensation programs
  • Conduct market data analyses to ensure the competitiveness of the Firm's compensation practices
  • Develop and administer incentive programs aligned with the Firm's goals

Project Management

  • Working with the HCM Leadership team, this role is responsible for leading and managing key HCM projects, such as key technology implementation, policy harmonization and other strategic projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in HR operations, with a focus on benefits, payroll, HRIS, data management, and compensation
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

New York Salary Range

$250,000—$300,000 USD
