Job description

We’ve reached a point in our journey as a company where things are starting to work really well. The team is growing exponentially and we are ready for someone to come in to lead and manage our team of CFPs. Currently the Founder is responsible for this, but at the rate the company is growing we need to replace him in this role so he can focus on growing the company to new heights.

The Director of Financial Planning plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing all aspects of the Financial Planning and sales function within the organization. This position requires a seasoned professional with comprehensive expertise in Financial Planning, sales management, and who has a strategic mindset. The position will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of Financial Planning and sales strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. One unique feature of our business model is that we do not engage in the sale of Financial products or asset management services. We are purely a fee-for-advice fiduciary.

The main goal of this position is to drive the growth of the organization by optimizing key department performance metrics through developing the team and it’s members. You will be managing a team of seasoned Certified Financial Planners® who spend their time engaging new prospects into our services and fulfilling those clients' needs once they engage with us.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management:

  • Drive revenue growth through developing the current team, working with our operations team to recruit new members, and optimizing key department performance metrics
  • Lead and manage a team of Financial Planning professionals by providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Facilitate a smooth and timely onboarding process for new sales reps by teaching and reinforcing our proven sales process and tools.
  • Ensure that Financial Planning team members are meeting or exceeding quota or KPI
  • Work with leadership team to set monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales department targets
  • Report on department KPIs to the leadership team on a daily and weekly basis
  • Ensure that all new clients are retained at a high rate and are happy with their experience
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between financial planners and other relevant teams (paraplanners, operations, marketing, etc…)
  • Personally stay engaged with the sales and planning processes by engaging two new Financial Planning clients each month from the same lead sources as the other advisors.
  • Oversee the sale, creation and delivery of personalized financial plans for clients.
  • Work with the leadership team to develop, innovate, and execute strategies to expand the Financial Planning services offered by the firm that are aligned with the organization's short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, operations and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Provide feedback to enhance products and services based on customer insights and market demands.
  • Implement and optimize sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Compliance and Regulation:
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and compliance standards, ensuring that all sales and Financial Planning activities adhere to legal requirements.
  • Technology Integration:
  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge Financial Planning tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Training and Development:
  • Work with other Directors in the development and implementation of training programs for Financial Planning staff to enhance their skills and keep them abreast of industry best practices.

Performance Metrics:

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and individual performance.
  • Implement corrective actions and improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years experience as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with proven experience (3+ years) in a leadership role within sales and Financial Planning.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, Certified Public Accountant (CPA with PFS) or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Planning concepts and sales strategy and processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Comfortable with industry technology and software applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.

The Director of Financial Planning will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial well-being of our clients while contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Compensation:

Base Salary: $150,000

You have the freedom to make your own schedule so long as you hit department KPI’s

+Variable/Performance Compensation:

On-target earnings can total compensation to $300,000
