Lokal Homes, one of the fastest growing private homebuilders in Colorado, is adding a Director of Finance to the Accounting and Finance Team. In this role, you will support the Finance function and interact heavily with banking partners and other investor groups. Experience in Finance with a homebuilder highly preferred.
Summary:
Responsible for providing leadership and guidance with respect to the improvement of financial performance of homebuilding operations. Maintains the integrity of the financial records of the business. Has responsibility for the timely and accurate reporting of financial transactions as well as participating significantly in forecasting, budgeting and planning. Establishes accounting procedures, ensures compliance with policies, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Oversees timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasts and periodic reports. Regularly, reviews financial results with the President and other senior leaders on a monthly basis. Comply with reporting timelines.
Responsible for cost control for the business. Maintain controls over reviewing and authorizing checks. Advocates a philosophy of cost containment. Implements procedures to ensure expenditures are authorized prior to issuance of purchase orders or other commitments. Reviews expenditures for G & A, warranty, purchasing, sales, land, marketing and other teams. Oversees the budgeting process.
Responsible for the development and implementation of procedures to ensure that all land and construction jobs are properly budgeted on a timely basis. Reviews construction budgets, monitor budget changes and assess the impact of changes in construction costs.
Participates with the President, Accounting and Finance Leaders and Senior Leaders in reaching strategic goals by managing capital allocation, maintaining the Business Plan model and reviewing financial returns. Also participates in the development of strategic goals and objectives to achieve top line growth, improve profitability and return on invested capital.
Reviews pro formas for new projects, participating in backlog management and recommending activities which maximize returns on invested capital.
Extensive background in creation of business reports in Excel required. Private or Public homebuilding experience required. Candidates outside of Colorado encouraged to apply.
